Frequently Asked Questions

At Balance Behavior Therapy, we know that families thrive when they feel informed, supported, and connected. Here are answers to some of our most commonly asked questions.

About ABA Therapy

What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals develop meaningful life skills by reinforcing positive behaviors and reducing those that interfere with learning. At Balance, we use ABA to make real progress—and we make it fun.

Who benefits from ABA therapy?
ABA is most commonly used to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but it can benefit anyone needing help with communication, social skills, emotional regulation, or daily living routines.

Getting Started

How do I begin services with Balance Behavior Therapy?
Start by reaching out and filling out our online intake form. From there, we’ll connect you with one of our dedicated Case Managers who will guide you through the process—from assessment to scheduling.

Do I need a diagnosis to get started?
Most insurance companies require a formal autism diagnosis to approve ABA services. However, if you're unsure where to start, we’re happy to help guide you through evaluations and resources.

How long does the process take?
From intake to first session, timelines vary based on insurance and availability, but we do our best to get families started within 3–6 weeks.

Our Services

What services do you offer?

  • 1:1 ABA therapy (home, school, or community-based)

  • Initial and ongoing assessments

  • Parent coaching & support

  • Social skills development

  • Collaboration with schools and other providers

  • Clinical oversight by a BCBA and hands-on support from Case Managers

Do you offer in-home or clinic-based sessions?
We currently offer in-home and community-based therapy. This allows your child to learn in natural environments, making the skills they develop more practical and lasting.

How many hours of therapy will my child receive?
This depends on your child’s needs. After the assessment, your Case Manager and BCBA will recommend a treatment plan tailored specifically to your child and family.

Your Care Team

Who will work with my child?
Your child’s care team includes:

  • A BCBA Clinical Director (overseeing overall treatment quality and clinical direction)

  • A Masters-Level Case Manager, who will be your main point of contact. They manage your child’s care, provide parent support, conduct assessments, and supervise the therapy team.

  • A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who works directly with your child to implement their treatment plan.

What is the role of the Case Manager?
Our Case Managers are highly trained, master’s-level professionals who manage your child’s program day-to-day. They lead parent communication, conduct assessments, adjust goals, and ensure your child's plan stays aligned with their progress. They are your go-to partner on this journey, supported by the Clinical Director.

What makes your team different?
We value authenticity, faith-rooted purpose, and joyful connection. We don’t just deliver therapy—we build relationships. Our Case Managers and RBTs are carefully selected for their heart, skill, and commitment to your child’s success.
